Speaking Up

It has been in my spirit to speak to some of the men and women who have come and questioned why we are associated still with this ministry.

Answering that question is simple. Let me share with you why.

A little over 20 years ago, right after we began attending Water of Life, God made it possible for my husband and me to purchase a house when it looked like we would never be able to afford one. With truthfully $17 down we moved in. The only problem was it was necessary to use our credit card to purchase a refrigerator, window blinds and some other necessary items to move into the house. Right after our moving in, I received the credit card bill for those purchases. It was very close to $2000. I remember standing in my living room, looking at the bill and saying out loud, “Jesus, I wish I had the money to pay off this credit card.” It was just ten minutes later and a knock came to our door. Someone I knew handed me an envelope and said “God told me to give this to you.” They then turned and walked away. I closed the door and opened the envelope. Inside was $2000 cash. The credit card was paid. Has a miracle like this ever happened to you? And you know what? Doyle has never even heard about it.

I shared this recently in an audio. My due date for birthing my fourth child was still a couple weeks away and my midwife asked it would be all right for her to go out of town for a couple of days. I replied I didn’t think it would be a problem. I still had a couple of weeks to go and Stephen had not turned yet, he was still breech, so I assumed I was not ready to give birth. The morning she was to have left, my water broke. I felt Stephen’s head still under my ribs, the same place it was the couple of days before when she checked it. When I called for my midwife’s assistant, my midwife answered. I asked her what she was doing still at home when she was supposed to be on her way to visit her family. She replied that late the night before God had told her not to go. She then told her husband and he replied, “If God is telling you not to go, then we won’t go.” When she reached my house, she checked me and the baby to see how far along we were. I reminded her that Stephen was breech the last time I saw her. Her face turned white and she checked again, “Kathie, his head is down and he is ready to go!” The power of God had turned him around. Has a miracle like this ever happened to you? And you know what? Unless Doyle has listened to that audio, he doesn’t even know that ever happened.

A number of years ago our mortgage company almost defrauded us out of our house. We found out, as most would say, by accident, they had our house up for foreclosure. We needed $10,000 within one week to get our home back. We did not have that kind of money. Jack decided we were not going to borrow it. Just one business day before the dead line we got an order in our sign shop with a deposit check of $10,000. It was the largest order at that time that we had ever received. Has a miracle like this ever happened to you? And you know what? Doyle didn’t hear about this one until just recently.

I could go on and on, but I hope you see the point. You think we are following a man, Doyle. But most of the many miracles that have happened and are still happening in my life, Doyle has no knowledge of. The man I follow is Jesus of Nazareth. What Doyle did was introduce me to that man, Jesus, and bring me the gospel which is the source of all these miracles. I am here because this is where God has placed me, and this is where Jesus is teaching me. Nothing yet has been able to shake that power or the experience I have walking in this gospel. And that power keeps increasing. Paul states in 1 Corinthians 4:19, “But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.” If you had ever experienced the same power that raised our Lord Jesus from the dead like I have, you would not have asked such a silly question.
